Fifteen musicians from the southwestern Pennsylvania region will create musical compositions to be featured in the stations’ on-air and online content.

Many of our longtime listeners and supporters are familiar with the phrase “Where the Music Matters.” With our 50th anniversary coming up, we’ve decided to take our slogan a step further and expand on the core service that we provide to our listeners. WYEP is now the station “Where the Music Comes First.”

WYEP has been nominated as the Best Radio Station in Pittsburgh City Paper‘s Best of PGH Reader’s Poll 2023. Additionally, our own Joey Spehar has once again been nominated for Best Radio DJ.

On Monday, May 31, WYEP presents a Pittsburgh Music Marathon. From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., all of the artists played will be from Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania.
