Bjork, The Fiery Furnaces, CocoRosie

Oceania

Bjork rarely conforms to expectations for even the most experimental music. Medulla is her most challenging album to date.

Terrible Angels

Translucent Sparrow

The Sadies are fronted by Canadian brothers Dallas and Travis Good, with a blend of traditional country, surfer music and garage rock.

Chris Michaels

From a musical family in Illinois, Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger make wildly experimental, unpredictable and challenging music with a mix of pop melodies folk rock and plenty of wordplay.

John's Smoke Turns Blue

Eddie Pennington is a master of thumbpicking, a style of guitar playing pioneered by Merle Travis in Kentucky.

Älgmarschen

Peter Puma Hedlund plays what's known as nyckelharpa. First created about 600 years ago, it's shaped like an elongated violin with multiple strings and keys used to press the frets.

We're Both So Sorry

Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn is the daughter of artistic parents from Olympia, Washington and sings with what some have called the "sexiest" voice in rock.
