What's Spinning: Week of Jan. 20 — Mac Miller, Lucy Dacus & My Morning Jacket

This week on “What’s Spinning,” we experience the new soulful, jazz-influenced album from the late Mac Miller; We fall into the pure vocals and emotions of Lucy Dacus; And delight in the rich piano melodies from My Morning Jacket.

Mac Miller, "5 Dollar Pony Rides"

The new soulful, jazz-influenced jam arrived just before the posthumous released “Balloonerism,” an album Mac Miller recorded over a decade ago. The new release is out on what would have been Mac's 33rd birthday, Jan. 20.

Lucy Dacus, "Ankles"

The new single features Dacus' pure vocals, and has that indie flare that seems to be dealing with the issue of something or someone you can't have. Her fourth solo effort is “Forever Is a Feeling.”

Mumford & Songs, "Rushmere"

After taking a break as a band, and a solo effort from Marcus Mumford. The banjos return and a large tour is expected to be announced soon around their new long player of an album.

My Morning Jacket, "Time Waited"

The Louisville band returns with a new album simply titled "is." The new single is a haunting, piano-driven tune about the flexibility of time, and how we can bend time to our benefit.

Bob Mould, "Here We Go Crazy"

The title track to his first recording in five years is back to the basics for Bob. He's simplified his sound and lyrically deals with chaos, unconditional love, and uncertainty. He plays Pittsburgh April 30.

Neal Francis, "What's Left Of Me"

There's a collision of timeless sounding rock ‘n’ roll meets disco-era dance music on Chicago native Neal Francis's new single, which results in 2025's first power pop anthem. Neal Francis plays Pittsburgh on March 21.

Colatura, "do you miss her"

Relocating from New York to Pittsburgh, Colatura serves up synth-rock-meets-dream-pop in this song that is about a relationship that started out of deceit.
