Live & Direct: Valerie June

Get ready to experience the soulful sounds of Valerie June – a modern-day blues musician who’s reigniting the genre with her unique voice and style. With influences ranging from gospel to folk and Appalachian to soul, she’ll transport you to another time and place with the strum of her guitar and the twang of her Tennessee drawl. Valerie June joined WYEP’s Rosemary Welsch for a Live & Direct session on May 6th, 2022, and even surprised us with a cover of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.”
