WYEP Pride 2023

Tune in on Tuesdays during the month of June as we’re inviting some of Pittsburgh’s best LGBTQ+ DJs to play an hour of songs just for WYEP listeners.

Jellyfish

Ricky Moslen is a DJ, musician, event organizer, and dog dad from Pittsburgh. He’s one half of Jellyfish, a DJ duo that throws monthly queer dance parties in Pittsburgh. They also play shows around the USA. He’s a lifelong music connoisseur—always searching for a new discovery or a new track–sometimes obsessively.

Huny XO

Bred in New York, NY, and currently residing in Pittsburgh (named Person of the Year in Music 2021 by Pittsburgh City Paper), HUNY XO’s work in music and the visual arts is rooted in exalting Black women & QTBIPOC communities. As a co-founder and the Experience Lead of Honcho’s Queer Fam Fund, as well as consulting on diversity outreach for other festivals, her mission to expand visibility and access in nightlife culture is a through-line in everything she tackles.

HUNY XO sets are genre-defying: ballroom beats, house, techno, dancehall, hip-hop…anything with a nasty beat and embedded in Blackness can get it.

Rojo

ROJO is a DJ from Pittsburgh, he says of his set for Pride month on WYEP, ” I put a lot of thought to what I was gonna play, I really wanted to encapsulate myself as a black queer artist here in the city and take you through a journey of the sounds that inspire me.” Listen as he takes us on an hour-long musical journey from his childhood roots in jazz, funk, and disco to the sounds of house, afro-beat, and techno.
