WYEP Women's History Month Spotify Playlist

It wasn’t easy getting here. These musical pioneers faced an uphill battle at every intersection on the road to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We applaud them for following their art no matter where it took them and we thank them for their hard work and perseverance. These women continue to inspire the next generation of rock stars. Take some time to enjoy this list and to think about the women who shaped the sound of rock music and remember that there are many deserving women whose names do not yet appear on this list.

WYEP celebrates Women's History Month with a look at women in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

By our count, there are 68 women who have been inducted into the Rock Hall -- or will be soon, as we have counted the newest class of inductees (Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe will be officially inducted on April 14th). Listen to WYEP throughout March to hear recorded pieces discussing the careers and influence of some of the women in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
