White Light/White Heat

The Velvet Underground are reissuing their 1968 album White Light/White Heat, but not as your usual run-of-the-mill reissue. This one is part of a 3 disc 45th anniversary box set. There will be 30 tracks across the 3 discs, and they're packed with loads of goodies. Included in the set are several previously unreleased tracks, alternate versions of some tracks you know, and some of John Cale's last studio sessions with the band.

Lou Reed and John Cale collaborated to curate this reissue to make it more interesting. Reed said regarding White Light/White Heat, "No-one listened to it. But there it is, forever – the quintessence of articulated punk. And no-one goes near it." With all the extras in this box set, it's hard to believe it will go unheard for long.

Here's a track from the album. You know, in case you were interested.
