Aspirin is what Little Richard claims saved his life from a heart attack recently in Nashville. At an appearance in Atlanta's W Hotel, Little Richard told Cee Lo Green that he didn't realize he was having cardio problems until his doctor told him after the fact. "I was coughing, and my right arm was aching. I told my son,' make the room as cold as ice'. So he turned the air conditioning on, and I took a baby aspirin. The doctor told me that saved my life."
Since then Little Richard has been traveling in a tour bus fitted with a hospital bed, although he seems to have made a full recovery. He attributes his health to his faith in God. "Jesus had something for me. He brought me through," Richard proclaimed. "When I talk to you about [Jesus], I'm not playing. I'm almost 81 years old. Without God, I wouldn't be here."
Little Richard was admitted to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame at the Hall's first ceremony in 1986, and hasnt released an album in more than 20 years. Listen below to his tune "Tutti Frutti".
