Mike Canton's Soul Show presents The Soul Train Tribute - Part 2Based on incredible listener response to a Soul Train Tribute show done last Saturday, The Soul Show host Mike Canton continues his recognition of the late Don Cornelius with even more great afro-funk, Motown and psychedelic soul music from 1971 - 1980. “Soul Train’s impact on American society was that it mainstreamed a ‘subculture’ in previously unimagined ways,” says The Soul Show host Mike Canton. “Where Motown’s effort was to reach the general audience with a safe, somewhat sanitized approach, Soul Train’s ‘uncut’ music was discovered by a broader society that was both blown away and accepting of this previously unfamiliar subculture.” Canton’s show will follow a chronological showcase of a different year in music during each 20-minute segment. Canton welcomes listener feedback and calls at 412.381.9900. Find out more about Mike Canton's Soul Show presents The Soul Train Tribute - Part 2 » |
