*The 14th Annual WYEP Summer Music Festival at Schenley Plaza*
Friday, June 24
Kids and Crafters Areas 4pm; Music 6pm

*WYEP's Final Fridays at Schenley Plaza*
July 29, August 26, September 30 at 7pm
Enjoy free concerts under the tent at Schenley Plaza on the final Friday of each summer month. Check back for line-up information later this spring.

The WYEP Community Broadcast Center
Every month we feature a different local band for this local music happy hour. It's a free event in our studios with refreshments and a live performance.

*Three Rivers Arts Festival*
June 3-12 at Point State Park and Downtown

Kid's Area at WYEP's Summer Music Festival at Schenley Plaza

WYEP's Summer Music Festival at Schenley Plaza has always provided great, FREE, family-friendly fun, but this year we've decided to up the ante. Join us as the Kid's Area expands with new activities and performances. Participants/Activities in the Kid's Area include:

"Balafon West African Dance Ensemble":http://balafon.org/ is providing Djembe drums for kids to play on.

"BYS Yoga":http://bys-yoga.com/ is hosting 4 kids' yoga classes at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30. and 7:30 with Earth Lotus Yoga Studio.

"CCFA Team Challenge":http://www.ccteamchallenge.org/ will bring a balloon artist and crafts.

"Children's Museum of Pittsburgh":http://www.pittsburghkids.org/ is providing hula hoops and bubbles for kids to play with.

"Earth Lotus Yoga Studio":http://earthlotusyoga.com/ will be leading children's yoga classes along with BYS Yoga.

"Gemini Children's Theater":http://www.geminitheater.org/ will appear in costume with face painting and crafts.

"Hip Hop on L.O.C.K.":http://www.hiphoponlock.org/ will be bringing turntables so you can take a spin.

"Household Harmony":http://householdharmony.com/default.aspx will lead a drum circle.

"InnerBeat Drum School's":http://www.innerbeatdrumschool.com/ Drum Line will perform.

"Lucy the R.E.A.D. Dog":http://www.lucythereaddog.com/Lucys_web_site/Welcome.html will be present for your kids to read to. Be sure to bring your favorite book!

"The National Lint Project":http://www.studiocapezzuti.com/index.htm will bring their 8 ft. puppets to interact with the crowd.

"The Pittsburgh Foundation":http://www.pittsburghfoundation.org/ will have storytelling activities.

"Pittsburgh Opera":http://www.pittsburghopera.org/ will bring real opera costumes to take pictures in.

"Project 53":https://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pages/Project-53-Musician-Resource-Center/125501107463805 will provide their library of instruments for kids to play - from accordians to guitars.

"Steel City Hoop Union":http://www.facebook.com/steelcityhoopunion with Stefanie Moser will lead a hoop jam and sell custom-made hoops from 6-8pm.

"Steel Town Fire":http://steeltownfire.com/ will be performing. You guessed it, with fire!

"Zany Umbrella Circus":http://www.zanyumbrellacircus.com/ will perform **A Parisian Vignette**, a preview of Mirette's Circus on stage July 7, 8, 9 at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, with "Oko Sokolo":http://www.okosokolo.de/ from Berlin, Germany.

WYEP's 16th Annual Summer Music Festival

WYEP's 16th Annual Summer Music Festival will be held Friday, June 28th at Schenley Plaza. The festival is a free summer music concert, complete with kids activities and an indie craft marketplace.

This year's Kids and Crafters area expands beneath the trees across from the Plaza and in front of Carnegie Library, starting at 4pm. Local crafters from I Made It! Market (http://imadeitmarket.com/) set up shop for the crowds at the festival. Guests can shop for handmade crafts that support community and non-profit groups.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, so participants are urged to grab a blanket, get comfortable and enjoy live music and activities on the lawn of Schenley Plaza. 

The free music at Schenley Plaza continues throughout the summer with WYEP's Final Fridays! This year's Final Fridays feature:
