Subdudes

This installment of Cool Kids featured WYEP member and volunteer Karen Schafer. She joined me to talk about her boys, and what they listened to growing up. Her children were put to sleep listening to many artists including the Subdudes, Crosby Stills and Nash, and even ACDC.

Her oldest son loved “Sugar Pie” by the Subdudes. Appropriately, “Sugar Pie” is a song that laments how our children age and leave for lives of their own. The Subdudes sing, “And now time has passed and you're so far away, Can't get used to not seeing you each day, But there's one place in the back of my mind, Where I can go to see you anytime”, and we feel the mixed emotions of knowing that their child is grown up and gone, but still proud of the child.
