The week of February 29th to March 4th focuses on the varied career and sounds of Ben Harper. Ben Harper developed a large following after the release of his debut album Welcome To The Cruel World in 1994. His music combines elements of rock, soul, funk, folk, reggae, and blues. Harper has released a dozen albums, and is getting set to release his 13th studio effort later this Spring.

This week of February 22nd-27th we have Michael Franti in the spotlight on our 1pm feature called Key Tracks
This song starts a week of music from Michael Franti that incorporates Soul, Reggae, hip-hop, jazz, and rock. Franti got his start in music in the hip-hop group the Beatnigs, and then formed The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. That project evolved into Spearhead, their first effort was released in 1994. Franti has continued to evolve the bands sound in more of a soul/pop direction the past 5 to 6 years. Franti has continued to be an outspoken supporter of peace and social justice issues through his music and benefit concerts.
