WYEP's Reimagination Recording Project
WYEP is accepting applications from area teen musicians to participate in the 2019-20 Reimagination Recording Project!
Now in its seventh year, the Reimagination Recording Project pairs teen-aged musicians with professional mentors to record and produce their own original music. Since 2013, the program has engaged with more than 100 area teen musicians and ensembles, including Urban Pathways Sounds of Steel, Center of Life Youth Jazz Combo, Daya, and many more.
Applications are accepted until 11:59pm, Friday, November 1st, 2019. All applications will be reviewed by project manager Greg Joseph (The Clarks), producer Dana Cannone, and those selected to participate in the project will be notified in early November.
A program orientation for all participants will take place at The Church Recording Studio on November 19, 2019 at 7 p.m.
Those selected to participate in the Reimagination Recording Project will work with a team of professional producers and musicians led by Cannone and Joseph. They will receive studio time at The Church Recording Studio to record and produce a song for inclusion on a compilation recording to be released by WYEP in early May 2020. Students in the Reimagination project also attend workshops led by area artists and educators on topics including songwriting, performing, and management.
