Key Tracks: Michael Franti

This week of February 22nd-27th we have Michael Franti in the spotlight on our 1pm feature called Key Tracks

This song starts a week of music from Michael Franti that incorporates Soul, Reggae, hip-hop, jazz, and rock. Franti got his start in music in the hip-hop group the Beatnigs, and then formed The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. That project evolved into Spearhead, their first effort was released in 1994. Franti has continued to evolve the bands sound in more of a soul/pop direction the past 5 to 6 years. Franti has continued to be an outspoken supporter of peace and social justice issues through his music and benefit concerts.
