The 9:13 Buzz with Andy Mulkerin

Every Wednesday at 9:13 am, one of Pittsburgh's finest music writers joins me (Cindy Howes) on the Morning Mix to play a couple favorite new songs and share some insight. Today we welcome Andy Mulkerin! In case you missed it here's what he played with commentary by Andy. Click the title to hear the song! Ezra Furman, "Tell 'Em All to Go to Hell" - This is from Chicago native Furman's latest, with his backing band the Boy-Friends. He writes catchy, literate songs, and utilizes saxophones in a crafty manner -- what's not to like? Cults, "I Can Hardly Make You Mine" - Cults busted on the scene two years ago, around the same time as some other two-person bands with reverby guitars, and I tried to resist liking them, but these songs are so catchy! This is from their new album, Static, a follow-up to 2011's self-titled debut. Go dance in the kitchen to this album!
