Chadwick Boseman is a pretty lucky guy. First, he gets to play, arguably, one of the most important players in the history of baseball. Now, he's going to portray the Godfather of Soul - James Brown! Wow! On top of that, frontman of The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, is going to collaborating with Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins to produce the biopic of James Brown.
The film will be working off of the script by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth (Birthday Girl, Fair Game
). The film will follow Brown's rise to stardom following a childhood of poverty of violence. Tate Taylor (The Help)
has been recruited as the films director and will begin to shoot in Mississippi this fall.
At the moment the film lacks a title and release date.
