Mr. McFeely on the Morning Mix


On the occasion of Fred Rogers’ 85th birthday, actor David Newell spoke with Joey Spehar and Cindy Howes about his time working on Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood as the beloved Speedy Deliveryman, Mr. McFeely. Specifically, Newell reflects on some of the Neighborhood’s best known songs like “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” and “It’s Such a Good Feeling”. He also shares some of his favorite musical memories of Rogers, such as the Erroll Garner jazz standard “Misty” that Fred would play on-set whenever he needed a break.
