"The Source Family" at the Hollywood Theater

The 2013 documentary The Source Family takes audiences back to 1971 - when communes and new religions were on the rise - to meet the Source Family, a secretive group of 140 beautiful young people who strolled Los Angeles in colorful robes and were devoted to "Father Yod," a controversial restaurant-turned-spiritual leader with fourteen wives and his own psychedelic rock band. It screens 7 p.m., Friday, June 7; 9:15 p.m., Saturday, June 8; and 4:30 p.m., Sunday, June 9.
