The African American Jazz Preservation Society of Pittsburgh, Inc. (AAJPSP) celebrates the history of former Local 471 of AFM known as the "Black Musician's Union." Our upcoming event focuses on the The Musician's Club of Local 471, the essential performance venue in Pittsburgh made famous by Local 471 “The Black Musicians Union” during the height of Pittsburgh jazz in past decades.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate and recreate the famous Pittsburgh performance venue known as The Musician’s Club, on Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 3pm-7pm at the Bridges Restaurant and Bar of Wyndham University Center Hotel, 100 Lytton Avenue in Oakland, Pittsburgh, 15213. Learn about the history of The Musician’s Club of Local 471, and hear stories from our own surviving Local 471 musicians who built and sustained it. Live Jazz is featured with the AAJPSP house band. Musicians, you are invited to bring your instruments and sit in. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
