The Hollywood Theater Presents: Medora

Davy Rothbart is a frequent contributor to public radio’s This American Life, a writer (GQ, New York Times), a creator of Found Magazine and – along with friend Andrew Cohn – a documentary filmmaker. This month Rothbart and Cohn’s first documentary, Medora, opens around the country. The film’s executive producers include Steve Buscemi and Stanley Tucci. Medora is the story of a dwindling town in rural Indiana and its resilient high-school basketball team. Think Hoop Dreams meets Gummo, or a real-life Hoosiers. The film premiered at SXSW Film Festival in March and swept the awards at many other festivals.
