FRIDAY NIGHT, 8pm - midnight:

Miss Freddye's Blues Band performs live at the Bulgarian Center in West Homestead for the opening dance of the Steel City Blues Festival. Led by the fiery Blueswoman Miss Freddye, the group has energized and amazed crowds across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia for the past 15 years. When they're not keeping dancers up all night, Miss Freddye's Blues Band is also a favorite at festivals and benefit concerts.
Held in the Bulgarian Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center in West Homestead, this event is smoke-free and fun for all ages. The dance features a FREE introductory blues dance lesson at 8pm with admission, followed by dancing at 9pm with Miss Freddye's Blues Band from 10pm-12:15am. There will also be late night dancing after the main evening dance, which will also feature music from Miss Freddye’s Blues Band, going all the way to 4am, including a newcomer Jack and Jill competition.

Billy Price Band will play the blues at Carnegie Mellon University Rangos Ballroom as part of the Steel City Blues Festival. The performance features an introductory blues dance lesson FREE with admission at 8pm, followed by dancing to the Billy Price Band from 9pm-12am.

ABOUT BILLY PRICE BAND:
2016 Blues Music Award Winner Billy Price first attracted national attention during his three-year association with guitarist Roy Buchanan. Price is the vocalist on two of Buchanan’s LPs, That’s What I’m Here For and Live Stock. Since then, with the Keystone Rhythm Band, the Billy Price Band, and solo projects, Billy Price has recorded and released a total of 15 albums, CDs, and DVDs. In April 2016, he was officially recognized and inducted as a Pittsburgh Rock ’n Roll Legend at an award ceremony.
Price’s album This Time for Real, with the late Chicago soul singer Otis Clay, received a 2016 Blues Music Award in the category of Best Soul Blues Album of 2015. A live recording of the Billy Price Band, Alive and Strange, was released by Nola Blue/Vizztone Label Group in April 2017.
