Pittsburgh Pride Theater Festival

The Pittsburgh Pride Theater Festival runs from July 18 to July 27 at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company in the Cultural District, 937 Liberty Ave., 3rd floor. The Festival is a showcase of one-act plays on lesbian-gay-bisexual-trans themes, written by local playwrights. Show times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 and Saturday matinees as 4:00.

Marital woes drive a wacky lesbian couple to couple’s counseling.

Sibling Rivalry by Kathryn Miller Haines, directed by Kaitlin Mausser

A daughter desperate for her mother's affection will do anything to get her attention, even if it means coming out of the closet.

Defense of Marriage by Jeff Cordell, directed by Melissa Hill Grande

A gay couple comically gropes toward a decision on a more committed life together - will it clean up some misunderstandings or be a drag?
