Bike to Feed Families
Bag it, Bring it, Bike it in!
Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m.
Starts at the Pump House, 880 E. Waterfront Drive in Homestead
Bike to Feed Families is an upcoming food drive with a twist. All of the collected donations are biked directly to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The easy 10 mile ride along the Great Allegheny Passage starts at the Pump House in Homestead at 10 a.m. on May 11. The ride is free and no registration is needed.
Stop by WYEP during our Spring Member Campaign and drop off your WYEP donation in person - be sure to bring a donation for Bike to Feed Families, as well!
Participants simply bring their food donations and something to carry them in (bike baskets and backpacks) and then everybody rides together to the Food Bank, located along the trail.
This is the second Bike to Feed Families ride. The first ride was organized by a group of volunteers last October. 17 strangers became friends in pedaling for a purpose. This year’s ride is expected to draw more cyclists, AND to stretch the impact, riders are organizing workplace food drives leading up to the ride. Cyclists of all abilities are welcome.
