2012 Via Festival

The third annual VIA Music & New Media Festival continues its tradition of unique performances featuring emerging musicians and new media artists. Spanning an entire week, over 50 local, national and international artists representing 4 countries converge in Pittsburgh for a/v performances, workshops, and interactive events that blend the best of nightlife and arts culture. Reframing city spaces, the 6 day festival shows off a thoughtful cross-section of venues that are uniquely Pittsburgh: from riverways to museums, clubs, and transformed pop-up spaces. A number of free all-ages events support ticketed programs. Emphasizing VIA's literal meaning of "by way of, or passing through" the festival encourages Pittsburgh as a nexus for young artists on the borders of music and art.
