Irish musician Glen Hansard has an awesome catalogue, including several rad covers. Hansard's latest EP adds to that list that features a cover by the legendary Bruce Springsteen. Glen Hansard has been compared to Bruce Springsteen, and he has definitely earned that honor. The Drive All Night EP features the Springsteen tune of the same name.

The original Drive All Night appeared on Springsteen's 1980 album The River, taking up a solid 9 minutes of the double LP. Hansard's version is also nine minutes long, but it has it's own unique flavor of rock and roll. In addition to the Boss cover, Hansard wrote three new original tracks and included guest musicians like Eddie Vedder, Joe Henry, and even Jake Clemons, nephew of the E Street Band's Clarence Clemons.

Expect the new EP in record stores on November 25th. It's currently available for pre-order on Amazon

If you like Morrisseys especially, then you'll be even more excited that a Morrissey is narrating the audiobook for of The Smiths frontman's book. It's not the author himself that narrates, but British actor David Morrissey, who currently plays the creepy Governor on AMC's The Walking Dead. It has a release date of December 3rd in the States, but's unclear whether the audiobook will be come out the same day.

The release of Morrissey's autobiography has been fraught with problems. A last minute disagreement over content with the publisher had Morrissey delay the launch back in September. It finally came out in October, and it came with a flood of juicy information about the author's personal life.

We await Autobiography patiently and can't wait to get our ears on it.

It all started ten years ago, when Stevie Wonder, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Norah Jones performed at the Grammys together. Then a musical spark was formed between Armstrong and Jones, and although it took ten years, a roaring fire has formed between the pair. They've recorded an album of Everly Brothers songs together called Foreverly, and it will be released on November 25th.

A couple years ago, Billie Joe got really into the Everly Brothers record Songs Our Daddy Taught Us, to the point that he was listening to it almost every morning. "I thought it would be cool to remake the record because I thought it was sort of an obscure thing and more people should know about it, but I really wanted to do it with a woman singing because I thought it would take on a different meaning — maybe broaden the meaning a little bit." Armstrong's wife suggested he fan that spark from 10 years ago, and see if Norah Jones would perform it with him, and sure enough, she agreed.

The 1958 Everly Brothers album is a cover album itself, comprising of popular country songs from the time, so Armstrong and Jones are covering covers, but that doesnt mean it will be any less enjoyable. Hearing country songs done by pop punk and jazz superstars should will be fun and different, even if we won't get to attend a tour behind the album. "I don't know if there's going to be time," Jones says.

November 25th can't come soon enough, but if patiently waiting until the album is in your hands isn't really your thing, you can listen to a track from the album right on stereogum.

For lovers of vinyl, it can feel like torture waiting for Record Store Day in the spring. Luckily, Record Store Day celebrates on Black Friday just like the rest of the retail world, and this Black Friday there are some cool releases. One such album is Dawes' Stripped Down at Grimey's, which was recorded just before their tour with Bob Dylan this past summer.

“This is a recording of the performance that turned me into a devoted Dawes fan,” says Grimey’s co-owner Doyle Davis. “For what it’s worth, I made a point to catch two more Dawes shows within four months of their Grimey’s performance. That’s how fans are made.”

The cool thing about Record Store Day, beyond the obvious support it offers for local record stores, is that the vinyl released is often limited edition or colored. Stripped Down at Grimey's will be offered on a limited edition 12" orange vinyl, so any Dawes fan should make a dash before they're all sold out.

Other Black Friday Record Store Day releases include Paul Simon, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Jack Johnson, Lana Del Rey, The Clash, Tegan & Sara, and many more. The full list can be found on Record Store Day's website.

Below is the song "Most People", one of the Dawes songs that will appear on their RSD release Stripped Down at Grimey's. Have a listen and let us know what you think!

U2 is currently in the studio, wrapping up production on their next album which is slated for release in early 2014. "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" will be in theaters November 29th. The 16 nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year have been announced! There are several repeat nominees and some new faces, as is the annual tradition. The new nominations include Nirvana, Hall and Oates, The Replacements, Linda Ronstadt, and Peter Gabriel. Repeat nominations include Kiss, LL Cool J, Cat Stevens, Deep Purple, NWA, and Chic. Nirvana is on the list for the first possible time, since 25 years has passed since their first album Bleach was released.

The nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are always controversial, and even more so is the final induction. There is usually criticism for the people that get to vote being unfairly biased, as well as for alleged vote fixing, particularly in 2007. Additionally, there has been some outcry about early pioneers in rock and roll being omitted for bigger names that couldn't have made it without their influence.

There is no specific date for when inductees will be announced, but we will be sure to talk about them as soon as we know.

The complete list of nominees is as follows:

The Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Chic
Deep Purple
Peter Gabriel
Hall And Oates
Kiss
LL Cool J
The Meters
Nirvana
NWA
The Replacements
Linda Ronstadt
Cat Stevens
Link Wray
Yes
The Zombies
