This installment of Cool Kids featured WYEP member and volunteer Karen Schafer. She joined me to talk about her boys, and what they listened to growing up.
Remember the good old days?  When everybody got up early and started working?  Even the kids? Well, today on Cool Kids, we've got a song that celebrates good, old fashioned hard work.
Today's Cool Kids selection comes from Ingrid Michaelson's 2009 album Everybody.  The record features 12 "completely autobiographical snapshots of her life".
Michael Franti's career in music began with a strong political bent.  The music was powerful, but not necessarily friendly to children's ears.
What's better than a song that short, simple, and insanely catchy?  Not much, really.

It comes as no surprise that children love reggae.  The genre's mix of rhythm and blues, jazz and rocksteady with hints of African and Latin American influences is naturally suited to dancing.
