Fiddlesticks Family Concert - Celebrate Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is a city full of traditions. Join KatyWiliams and CLO Academy Tap Dancers as they commemorate one of Pittsburgh'smost iconic dancers Gene Kelly in "Singing in the Rain". Joe Negri, frequent guest onMr. Roger's Neighborhood and one of Pittsburgh'smost famous jazz musicians, performs in celebration of the "City of Steel." Your Pittsburgh pridewill be in the spotlight for this special community concert!

Gateway to the Arts' Family Performance Series at the Hillman Center for Performing Arts

Gateway to the Arts' - Creative Teaching. Lifelong Learning.
Since 1957, Gateway to the Arts has transformed the lives of over 7,500,000 pre-kindergarten – 12th grade students through active participation in the arts.

Dedicated to serving students, educators and artists, Gateway to the Arts focuses on delivering quality artistic experiences by professional performing and visual artists to students and youth in schools, libraries and community centers—wherever learning is taking place. We provide artists and educators with the necessary skills to help students access the arts as a tool for learning.

For the 2012-13 season, Gateway to the Arts' presents, Family Performance Series! It's a series of three performances for the 2012-13 season targeted at families. A great family event - Come sing and dance with Gateway to the Arts' select artists!

Glen Miller Orchestra

One of the greatest bands of all time, the Glenn Miller Orchestra defines big swing and velvety jazz. Miller's feel-good classics, including Tuxedo Junction, In the Mood and Pennsylvania 6-5000 have endured from phonographs to iPods. Jump and jive with their traditional big band setup featuring the incredibly talented vocal duo of Nick Hilscher and Julia Rich.

A Tribute to the Best of Irish Music

Mark Dignam and friends showcase their tribute to the best of Irish culture with poetry, pop, rock and traditional music.

A show, host Mark Dignam, has wanted to do for a good many years; St. Patricks Day will have plenty of drinking song craziness but before that hurricane hits, he thought to showcase some of the best of Irish culture, performed by some of the best of Irish leaning artists. Come take part in this unique trip through the history of Irish music and poetry.

Art Market and Benefit Concert for GEMS

Costello & the Cool Minors, Sun For Moon, Polar Scout, Art Sale, Vegan + Vegetarian Food.

Wild Kindness Records is hosting a tour this spring to promote a non-profit group, GEMS, as well as a compilation album to which 100% of the proceeds go to GEMS. Events will also take place in Youngstown, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago and Columbus.

Wild Kindness Records will release Sunshine Off the Tracks: A Benefit for GEMS. Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS) is a New York-based organization designed to serve females, ages 12-24, who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. GEMS’ mission is to empower girls and young women to exit the commercial sex industry and develop their full potential. Sunshine Off the Tracks features contributions from a wide array of independent musicians and record labels, such as Nat Baldwin (of The Dirty Projectors) along with contributions from K Records, Misra Records and more!

David Wickerham

David Wickerham. the 2011 ATOS Theatre Organist of the Year, will make his first Pittsburgh appearance on Saturday April 6, 2012, 2pm, at the PATOS Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ.
Dave's active concert schedule has included two succesful concert tours to Australia in recent years. He is currently staff organist at the Millhouse Museum in Boca Raton, FL. He previously served for 13 years as staff organist at the world famous Piper Music Palace in Milwaukee.
Tickets are available at the door ($20) or in advance ($15) at the PATOS website, www.theatreorgans.com/PATOS. Students and children are free with an adult admission. The Patos Mighty Wulitzer is the only remaining theatre organ playing in a public auditorium in the Pittsburgh area, and the Pittsburgh Area Theatre Organ Society strives to preserve this musical treasure for modern audiences.

3rd Annual Autism Walk

Slippery Rock University's Council for Exceptional Children is hosting their 3rd Annual Autism Walk. The walk will be on Sunday April 15th from 11am to 3pm at the Morrow Field House. There will be food, live bands, and a chinese auction. Only $10 for registration which includes a t-shirt. All proceeds benefit a non-profit organization, Parents in TOTO, located in Zelienople, PA. Pitt Band Centennial Spring Concert

Come celebrate Pitt Band's 100th year with the Pitt Symphonic Band's Spring Concert! Following a weekend of celebrating a century of excellence in music and marching, the festivities will conclude with Pitt Band's Annual Spring Concert. You will be treated with a variety of band music, including marches, a big band medley, and pieces by Shostakovich, John Williams, Tichely, Tchaikovsky, Holsinger, and Nelhybel.
