The Head and the Heart "Let's Be Still"
Virginia and California songwriters take their musical vision to Seattle, mixing folk roots with indie-pop.
The Head and The Heart’s debut propelled the Seattle band to two years of non-stop touring and a plethora of accolades for their folky-beats meet indie-rock sound. For Let’s Be Still they’ve shifted from being lyrically introspective to addressing broad social issues ranging from the Sandy Hook shootings to troops returning home from war. Harmonies are a strong point, although violinist Charity Rose Thielen takes a more prominent role as lead vocalist on several songs. Not content to rest on their laurels, the band stretches for a more mature sound, both musically and lyrically.
