Phish "Fuego"

When you drop the needle on Fuego, you may think you’ve put on a long lost Beatle’s album.  Nine minutes later, after being taken on a breathtaking journey of design and influence, the second song begins and you’re reminded that they boys of Phish are talented songwriters and virtuosic instrumentalists. The songs on Fuego are some of the best in Phish history. The harmonies are tight; the bass lines funky. The guitar parts are simultaneously futuristic, classic, and whimsical. Twenty-five years into their journey, Phish sound as playful as they did in 1989 as they name-check characters from their storied mythology and rhyme phrases like “herbivorous, crepuscular” with “cuddly, but muscular.”
