Accounting & Administrative Assistant
Hello there! Thanks for your interest to find out more about me.
First, let me tell you that I am one of those people you see sitting in traffic in the car next to you with the sunroof open. . . the windows down. . . and at times belting it out! In the AM. . . in the PM. . . no matter. . . there’s music playing! Music can bring you up : ) or keep you down : ( There’s music that you just have to move to. There’s also music to make you stop and ponder the mysteries of life. The variety that WYEP brings you leads you to music you might never have gotten to hear. They bring the best of what’s out there right to you – on the radio in your car/home. . . .streaming on-line at work. . . and with the mobile app WHEREVER you are! Some of my listening go tos are: Sade/Justin Timberlake/Annie Lennox/Estelle/Feist/Josh Ritter and local groups like Brownie Mary, Joy Ike and The Clarks. (Brownie Mary? Did I just “date” myself?)
Second: How did I get here? I received a call late on a Thursday night about the job. I thought it was about my sustaining membership. (hint. . . hint. . . if you’re not a member. . . contact us!) My first day here at WYEP was at the end of May (2012). So, I may be a “newbie”. . . but, (in my eyes) I fit right in! When my son says, “This is the best day ever!”. I know exactly what he means. This is the best job EVER! I am truly lucky to be one of the few that doesn’t dread Monday mornings. What a different atmosphere independent public radio is! Although there’s always work to do, it is so much more than just a job. This is truly the place where the music matters. And, I am proud to be a part of it!
From the listeners to the Board of Directors. . . we ALL help bring WYEP to the masses. Thank you for listening. I hope to see you at a future event!
